About Me

Hello,
I'm Tanya
Working and playing with dogs brings me excitement and great joy while connecting with them. I started pet sitting in the fall of 2017 and found my passions are getting out with the pack in nature and training. I love helping people understand their dog(s) better and to watch your bond grow stronger together.
I, (often along with my husband) do long leash or E-collar pack walks in nature which is excellent for their physical and mental health. Nature walks are a healthy way to decompress from the human world and provide stimulation they naturally crave with the pack.
I continue to learn from our dog clients, reading about dog training and dog psychology, and will be joining additional programs for trainers in the future. I have completed Open-Minded Approach Apprentice Program with Tulsa Pack Athletics. I also enjoy online monthly memberships with Method K9 and Pack Life LA. I often share online trainers, podcasts, and books I'm reading about our canine companions on IG, hoping the ideas and information makes life more enjoyable for you and your dog.
How I started
In 2014 my eldest son (12 yrs old at the time) indirectly got me into pet sitting when he started dog walking and drop-ins in our previous neighborhood. I went along as his supervisor and later stepped in to give additional help to an owner when her dog became ill after getting kennel cough from a dog park. The owner suggested that I may want to look into becoming a sitter through Rover. I continued along on sittings with my son and finally joined in 2017 and had my first few Rover clients in October and my business rapidly grew over the holidays that year.
My husband Jon (married in 2000) comes alongside me often to provide care for your pets as if they were our own. I say it's like being aunts and uncles- we get to love on them, spoil them, and send them home! We have dogs in our home almost every day but do not currently have a dog of our own- we borrow them! We have had our own dogs in the past (2 golden retrievers and a chow mix- owning one at a time) and currently have other types of pets ourselves and enjoy spending our days with yours.
